This 16,000-mile, one owner, fully loaded 1984 Thunderbird coupe was purchased from Redeker Ford in Grand Haven, Michigan in April 1984. The car was originally ordered by Arnie Redeker, the owner of Redeker Ford., for his wife. Rather than just order an elan with a few options, Arnie, for some reason, decided to order this very special car with almost every option either individually or as part of a package. He ended up with an elan, minus the atrocious digital dash and the chrome mirrors, with almost every available option. I guess because of the high price of fuel at the time, he chose to stay with the V6 and not order the V8
The original owners saw the car prepped for delivery on the showroom floor, fell in love with it and purchased it on the spot. The first thing that the original owner did was take it to Zimmer Automotive in Spring Lake, Michigan and have it Ziebart Rust Proofed and “Z-Glazed”.
The original owners babied their prized possession. They only drove it occasionally on weekend drives along the beautiful Michigan Third Coast in nice weather. The T-Bird spent the rest of its time under a dust cover in their heated garage. For the last several years the car has not been registered and has only been driven two or three times a year. The owner changed the oil himself every year. It has never been in the shop, seen snow and only been in the rain a few times.
This might be one of the nicest surviving ninth generation (1983-1988) T-Birds in existence! After a thorough polish with Griots Correcting Cream, the Midnight Canyon Red exterior looks spectacular. The original Canyon Red interior looks exactly the way it looked when it left the factory.
