Description

Here we have a consignment that was built twice.  Yes you heard me correctly, twice.  See, back in 2006 our consignor did a frame off restoration with a beautiful interior and wonderful blue exterior.  He and his wife went for their first ride and his wife did not like the exterior color or the interior.  Well so much for checking, BUT being a married man we all know at times (all the times to be exact) our significant other may disagree with our choices, and it is important to keep the peace so he set out to redo it to her liking.  At this point I'm curious as to exactly whose car it is but not for me to decide.  And now we give you the 2nd version.  Happy wife, happy life?   Mmmmmmeh.

Exterior
Designers at Ford were all the rage in 1937 and got it right for this car's design.  We lead the way with a wonderfully V shaped front grille that also curves downward as does it curve around the hood.  It has Ford red truck paint and a chrome trimming accenting this shape.  Also on the hood are dual side vents which are “italicized” if you will on their sides and also sport red paint and some more trimming around the edge.  Teardrop headlights and bezels flank the grille, and another bump out for the actual fenders in front take over and head to the running board.  A rear fender protrudes at the back end of the board, and we see a wonderful “humpback” gracefully descending towards the rear bumper.  All this metal is bathed in Ford truck red, and chrome in it is all excellent and shiny.  The paint shows some slight cracking throughout revealing the white primer.   A large trunk lid is going with the program on the swooping descent, and some teardrop tail lights are just above the rear bumper.  A lovely split rear oval glass and some 15-inch Cragar Pro Street polished wheels, 6 inches wide in front and 8 inches wide in back are wrapped by redline encircled rubber.

Interior
A swing of the doors and we see nice warm saddle colored leather on the door panels with wide tuck and roll uppers, a custom billet styled polished armrest and door pull and a smooth lower with a band of gold carpeting one the bottoms.  Power window toggles can be seen and a ribbed door actuator is with the lines.  Wonderful overstuffed late model buckets are wrapped in the saddle leather, and present nearly perfect.  (How do you like that honey?) These chairs have armrests that swing up and down and are power adjustable to get it just right baby bear.  In back is a matching leather bench with room for 3 but has 2 seat belt setups.  The headliner is suede and sun tan and the carpet is gold and looking very clean.  Up front, a full metal jacket dash is the Ford truck red and has a custom made leather lower in it that houses the Vintage AC controls and an AM/FM/CD/MP3 player radio.  A Flaming River tilt chromed column has a Billet Specialties modern take on the banjo styling steering wheel looking more like surfers cross and its a 14 inch half warp version.  This wheel fronts a series of white faced classic looking VDO gauges with black lettering and half moon backed pointers.  These reside in a polished rectangular panel have gold bezels.  AC vents pepper the dash and some nice shrined and rubber pedals await your feet pressing into them.  Is that Ok honey if I go fast?

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a gleaming 350ci V8 crate engine which our consignor states puts out 300hp, although no documentation backs this statement up.  Polished ribbed valve covers, an oval ribbed open air cleaner and plenty of polished bolt ons make this an encore applause presentation.  Edelbrock provides the dual 4-barrel carbs that is 8-barrels of some serious fuel flowing into these 8 cylinders.  A TH350 with a shift kit is on back and it's a 3 speed automatic version with a shift kit.  On the back, the pumpkin weighs in at 8 inches and is a 3.00 geared conventional Ford axle.  Headers are on for the exhale, and a Flowmaster exhaust gives this car a nice growl.  A Walker Cobra radiator keeps everything super cool especially with the AC attached.

Undercarriage
All clean and we see Heidts Mustang 2 style front suspension, and leaf springs for the rear.  Power 11-inch disc brakes are in front, and power drums for the rear.  The tank is a new Rock Valley 18 gallon steel tank.  Rack and pinion power steering has been added into the mix.  Hold on to the JESUS! bar we're going for a ride.

Drive-Ability
Those 8 cylinders had no problem sucking down that gas via the 8 barrels and off to the test track we went where it was a super driver, great limitless acceleration, ( I believe that it does have at least 300 horses), and bias free panic stopping.  All functions were all working at the item of my test drive.

A well documented double down experience with photos and receipts.  Quite the sexy build and I did not catch the blue exterior version, but it's definitely a looker and a cooker now.  Whoz da boss?  The car won in the end!  And now you can too, if you get online or in here to pony up the dough and then just GO.
