1956 Ford Sunliner Convertible
Car History
1956 Ford Sunliner Convertible was an ideal '50s cruiser back then, and now, for the driver that loved pastels and top-down driving. The Sunliner was the top-of-the-line car for Ford in 1956 and it is easy to see why with that sweeping trim running down the sides of the car that separates the two colors in dramatic fashion.
We have an absolute stunner of a 1956 Ford Sunliner convertible here at Adventure Classics in Coral over Colonial White that came with the 312 Thunderbird Engine, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Fender Skirts, Full Wheel Covers, White Side Wall Tires, Town and Country Radio, Windshield Washer, Lifeguard Safety Package, Lifeguard Steering Wheel, Lifeguard Seat Belts, Lifeguard Cushioning For Instrument Panel, Lifeguard Cushioned Sun Visors, Bumper Guards Front & Rear, Overrider Bars Front & Rear, a Continental Kit, Interior Mirror Day/ Night, Outside Mirrors Left & Right, and a Glove Box Light, per the original Window Sticker.
Engine & Drivetrain
Under the hood is Ford's reliable and torquey 312 cubic inch "Y-block" V8 with the factory silver painted air cleaner assembly, "Thunderbird Special" finned aluminum valve covers, Ford Red paint block, heads, and intake, cast iron exhaust manifolds, Power Steering , with everything looking just as it did back then in the engine compartment including the “See Clear” windshield washer bag on the fender.
Power transfers to the 2-speed automatic transmission underneath that shifts smoothly and it rides on the factory steel wheels with the correct hubcaps and are wrapped in wide whitewall tires that finish off the look perfectly.
Interior
There's a two-tone black and white interior with the factory split bench front seat wearing correct seat covers, black carpets on the floor, matching door panels and rear seat, big black three-spoke steering wheel, Glove Box Light, all the correct gauges sitting inside that two-tone original dash that absolutely pops, column-shift automatic transmission, Town and Country Radio, and an interior Day/ Night mirror.
In addition it has the Lifeguard Safety package consisting of Lifeguard Steering Wheel, Lifeguard Seat Belts, Lifeguard Cushioning For Instrument Panel, Lifeguard Cushioned Sun Visors, a padded dashboard, safety door locks, and a breakaway rearview mirror.
It has a white vinyl convertible top that works just as it should as well as a trunk that is beautifully painted and outfitted with a correct grey mat and a full-size spare tire and wheel.

It features white painted Fender Skirts, Bumper Guards Front & Rear, Overrider Bars Front & Rear, a Continental Kit, Outside Mirrors Left & Right, round taillights for their jet-age styling, and the exhaust ports through the rear bumper.
