Rediscover Elegance and Power
This 1912 Ford Model T speedster has undergone two subsequent repaints. It draws its power from a 177ci inline-four engine, coupled with a two-speed planetary-gear transmission. This vehicle boasts a 12-volt electrical system and is furnished with an Anco exhaust manifold. Recent maintenance work includes the replacement of spark plugs and the radiator in 2019. Offered on behalf of the present owner, this Model T speedster comes accompanied by a wheel-hub wrench, an instruction manual, and a clean Texas title.
Adorned in a vibrant red hue, the car's exterior has seen refinishing on at least two occasions since the owner's acquisition in 1979. Most notably, Munich Bodywerke of Houston, Texas, performed the latest repaint in 2004. Notable exterior features encompass acetylene headlights, complemented by an electric taillight. The brass accents throughout include a monocle windscreen with a brass frame, along with embellishments on the radiator surround, side step plates, horn, headlight housings, and more. The car rides on red-finished 30" wire wheels equipped with white Firestone tires. The rear axle houses mechanically actuated drum brakes.
Within the open cockpit, a pair of maroon-upholstered bucket seats is positioned ahead of a fuel tank and a spare tire. Notably, a secondary horn is operated by a pedal located in front of the passenger seat. The wooden dash panel accommodates a four-spoke steering wheel and is home to a Jones speedometer featuring an odometer, a Jones Motorola tachometer, and a Phinney-Walker mechanical clock. The odometer displays just over 600 miles; however, the true mileage remains undisclosed, given the vehicle's vintage nature. The 177ci inline-four engine has undergone a 12-volt electrical conversion, supported by a single carburetor for induction. The exhaust system incorporates an aftermarket Anco manifold. In preparation for the sale, an oil change has been carried out. Further recent improvements include the installation of replacement spark plugs and a reproduction radiator. Notably, there is an observed oil leak, as stated by the seller.
