Westfalia Camper

Description

This 1969 Volkswagen Type 2 Westfalia Campmobile Bus has undergone a series of updates, including a fresh red and white paint job, an interior makeover, and the installation of a 1,600cc flat-four engine. This dual-port engine is paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle, providing a reliable and fun driving experience. Features include Jalousie side windows, a 110 volt power hook up, a Bluetooth stereo system, and red-painted steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. While the pop-up roof, folding table, and sink have been removed, the resulting spacious interior is ideal for accommodating friends and family on your journeys.

Under the rear hood, the bus has a built 1,600cc flat-four dual-port motor, complete with a double barrel carburetor. A recent inspection and maintenance by a skilled VW mechanic included the replacement of the valve guides, gaskets, the coil, condenser, and a carburetor rebuild, making this motor purr. This bus also has newer ball joints, tie rods, CV boots, shocks, brake lines, fuel lines, and a new alternator, collectively contributing to the bus's reliable and enjoyable driving experience.

The bus has been finished in a vibrant red and white color scheme that still has lots of shine. While the overall appearance of the paint is great, the seller notes the presence of various scratches and paint chips upon close inspection. Note that several photos show a missing passenger-side mirror and some interior water damage at the bottom of the rear seat platforms. To address the potential leaks, the replacement of window gaskets is recommended.

Inside the main cabin, the front bucket seats have been reupholstered in white vinyl with red accents. The front area features a black rubber floor, and the entertainment setup includes a Kenwood AM/FM radio with Bluetooth connectivity, along with Kicker door speakers, rear 6x9 speakers mounted underneath the bench seat, and a 12-inch Alpine sub is mounted in the center console along with two cup holders and a padded armrest. Note that the subwoofer does not seem to be on. The rear of the cabin has also been reupholstered in white and red vinyl, set against faux wood-lined floors. Additionally, a front support cage has been added for both structural reinforcement and enhanced safety.

A white two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a white painted dash featuring a 90-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 55,356 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
