Northstar V8 Plush Leather Interior Lots of Power Options Needs Some TLC

1997 Cadillac Sedan Deville

The name "DeVille" is derived from the French de la ville or de ville meaning "of the town". In French coach building parlance, a coupé de ville, from the French couper (to cut) i.e. shorten or reduce, was a short four-wheeled closed carriage with an inside seat for two and an outside seat for the driver and this smaller vehicle was intended for use in the town or city (de ville).

This Cadillac is a two-owner car, here for consignment, and your driving pleasure. Overall fair condition, runs, and needs some TLC

Exterior
A dark brown roadster roof which has some separation around the window surrounds due to dry rotting. Exterior painted in cream, shows some patina, scratches, and dings, but retains its shine. Particularly along the belt trimline there are some paint chips, as well as on the hood a scratch, and lower front grille intake some scratching. Headlights are fogged a bit however very few if any dings and dents. Standard Cadillac hubcaps are on all four corners.

Interior
Original leather presents in excellent condition. Very plush tufting in the center with stitched bolsters, split buckets in front and a bench in back are noted. Thick pile carpeting with some marking shows but overall good condition. Full electronic controls are seen in the arms of the door and include power windows, power seat adjustments, and power mirror adjustments. A digital dash with plenty of readouts, and warning messages are in the instrument cluster.

Drivetrain
A Northstar V8 (4.6 liter) coupled with a 4-speed automatic with overdrive.

Undercarriage
Front and rear power ABS disc brakes are all around. Rack and pinion steering with coil sprung front suspension and McPherson struts. Coil spring and short and long arm suspension in the rear.

A smooth riding quick starting car that can provide comfort for 6 even on a long haul. A few faults, but mostly a fair to good car that seems to be in need of some maintenance.
