This Business Coupe, distinct from the Sport Coupe due to its rear platform instead of a back seat, is a true gem, showcasing both originality and custom enhancements.
Under the hood lies a rebuilt engine, upgraded with a performance cam, slightly bored cylinders, new pistons, and rings. The dual carburetors provide enhanced power, and the new clutch ensures smooth operation. The radiator has been rebuilt, complete with new hoses, and the car has been converted to a key-start ignition system for modern convenience. Power steering has been added, and the braking system now includes front disc brakes with a booster and rear drums for improved stopping power.
The exterior of this coupe is finished in an elegant, very dark blue (often mistaken for black) that gleams with its recent repaint. The hood and trunk have been tastefully dechromed, while additional chrome teeth in the grille add a bold touch. Other exterior updates include new 1954 taillights, a set of five new tires, and a brand-new spare mounted on a fully restored bumper jack.
The interior is a testament to craftsmanship and style. Completely reupholstered, the seats feature blue leather designed to complement the car's exterior, while the new headliner, carpeting (including the trunk), and painted dash and window sills complete the refreshed cabin. Modern touches include a contemporary AM/FM radio with a CD player, a new electric motor for the windshield wipers, and seat belts installed for the front seats.
This restoration also features new floor sheet metal from the firewall to the rear bumper, ensuring structural integrity throughout. Additional updates include a new gas tank, tinted rear glass, and rewiring of all lights.
