“Big Red", this 1947 Chrysler Town and Country sedan, is the flagship of the four inline 8-cylinder sedans known to still exist, and is very well-known in the Chrysler community. It was treated to a comprehensive nut-and-bolt, frame-off restoration in 2006 and no detail was overlooked for originality - including the window visor, roof rack and dual spot lights.
In addition to cosmetic work, the engine and transmission were rebuilt. After its no-expense-spared restoration, "Big Red" won its class at Meadow Brook and received both an AACA Junior and Senior award. Still in near-perfect condition, Big Red has been well cared for by the same owner since 2009. Accompanying documentation includes restoration photos and receipts, multiple magazine articles and show awards.
