An unexpected downturn of the economy gave the economical and well-built Rambler an advantage with cost-conscious buyers. Designed by Ed Anderson in 1963 and refined by Richard Teague the following year, the handsome Rambler Classic was Motor Trend's "Car of the Year" for 1963.
