"Texas Ranch Hand"
For sale at GR Auto Gallery of Grand Rapids is this 1948 Dodge B1 Pickup, equipped with a 218ci inline-6 engine and a 3-speed manual transmission. The truck features a black and green two-tone exterior, staying true to its factory color scheme. The bed retains its original wood slat floor, adding to the period-correct look.
The interior includes a brown leather bench seat, which complements the overall vintage feel. Originally from Texas, this Dodge B1 has been preserved in largely original condition. While it shows minimal signs of its age, it remains a great example of a post-war pickup.
This truck offers a straightforward, no-frills driving experience typical of the era. It's a good fit for someone looking to enjoy an unmodified, classic pickup or add a unique piece to their collection.
The B-series trucks by Dodge were built from 1948 through 1953. They were called the “Pilot House” trucks because of the redesign giving the driver better visibility than previous trucks and for the first time had optional ¾ rear windows that allowed for even more visibility. The ½ ton trucks were 95 HP 6-cylinders while the ¾ ton trucks were given 108 HP. These are really cool trucks given you still see Ford and Chevys but not so much the Dodges in these years.
