Fresh in our showroom is this beautiful white Studebaker Avanti. We acquired it from a Massachusetts couple who were the car's second owners. They planned to restore and enjoy it, but health concerns prevented them from completing the work. They recently installed many new parts, including an aluminum gas tank, brakes on all four wheels, a water pump, ignition cables, and an electronic distributor. The car also received a new transmission and torque converter. It is powered by Studebaker's 289ci V8 engine, paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The front brakes now have discs, plus a new master cylinder. We have extensive documentation and receipts detailing what was replaced or repaired, along with the original build sheet. The first owners marked their names on the cup holder seals and glove box, matching the names on the build sheet—a cool piece of history. The Avanti was built for only two years; 1963 was the last year. About 6,000 Avantis were made, far fewer than Studebaker president Sherwood Egbert expected.
