Built by Ricky Bobby's Rod Shop in Manchester, Tennessee, this 1928 Ford Model A Tudor sedan is a masterfully crafted hot rod. It sits on a custom 2”x4” steel frame with a 1946 Ford front drop axle, coil springs up front, and a four-link rear with coilovers. The steel body has been chopped 9.5 inches, shortened 3 inches, and shaved for a sleek look. Finished in deep black paint, it features 1959 Volkswagen taillights, 1932 Ford headlights, and a removable soft roof supported by wood bracing. Custom black wire wheels from Rally America (18” front, 20” rear) with 'V8' logo caps complete the stance. Wilwood front disc brakes hide behind finned drum-style covers, while the rear drum brakes sport Buick covers. Under the hood, a 1949 Mercury 301ci flathead V8—bored .125” over—packs an Isky 400 Jr. camshaft, ported Offenhauser heads, twin Stromberg 97 carburetors, and open headers. Power is sent through a Tremec 5-speed manual to a Ford 9” rear end with 3.73:1 gears. Inside, quilted black leather upholstery, So-Cal black gauges, a LimeWorks steering wheel and column, a black-handled shifter, and bead-rolled interior panels add to the vintage vibe. Kugel Komponents pedals, black carpets, hidden switches, and a rearview mirror enhance functionality.
