GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this extremely rare and historically significant 1941 BMW R75 WH for your consideration. Powered by a 750cc twin-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed selectable automatic transmission, this sidecar-equipped motorcycle remains largely original and features Desert Storm paint and period-correct markings. Originally finished in Luftwaffe Gray, it still retains its matching numbers and iconic Drilastic seats with tags intact. Only 16,500 units were produced, with an estimated 1,500 known to exist today. This particular example was originally delivered to the German Air Force in Gardaladen, Germany—likely serving at a training center due to the lack of airfields in the area. After War, it is believed to have been captured by the British and eventually made its way to the U.S., where it was acquired in the 1970s by a BMW dealer in Wichita, Kansas. Now residing in Michigan, this R75 WH runs, rides, and makes for an excellent collector's piece or conversation-starting showpiece. The iconic sidecar is an undeniable head-turner. Drive this one out of our showroom or have us assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the United States! Don't hesitate to call us with any questions or for more information.
The BMW R75 was introduced in 1941 as a military motorcycle developed specifically for the German Wehrmacht during World War II. Designed for rugged terrain and combat reliability, it featured an integrated sidecar and driven third wheel that provided impressive off-road capabilities. Its robust construction, advanced engineering for the time, and cross-country performance made it a favorite for military operations across Europe and North Africa. The R75 was used extensively by all branches of the German military and has since become one of the most iconic and collectible military motorcycles of the 20th century.
