Few cars made waves in the early '70s quite like the 1971 Buick Riviera. With its bold boattail rear, dramatic curves, and unmistakable presence, the third-gen Riviera redefined personal luxury. This fully restored 1971 Riviera GS Sport Coupe pairs that bold design with real muscle, courtesy of the Gran Sport package. Finished in factory-correct Vintage Red with a black vinyl roof, this Riviera shows beautifully. Decklid louvers, quad T3 headlights, polished trim, and 15” Buick Rallye wheels wrapped in Toyo whitewalls complete the look. A torquey 455ci V8 (casting #1238861) with a chrome air cleaner and Quadrajet carb delivers proper GS punch, backed by a TH400 and a 12-bolt rear with 3.42 Positraction gears. The GS package also brought firmer suspension and quicker steering for a more responsive feel. Inside, a black vinyl cabin features bucket seats, a power driver's seat, and a unique cantilevered gear selector. Engine-turned trim, woodgrain accents, power windows, A/C, and an AM/FM radio add comfort and style. Controversial at launch, the boattail Riviera has aged into a collector favorite.
