Classic Beauty with Modern Power

Originally delivered in California, this 1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner retains the solid body and clean foundation typically associated with western cars. It has been thoughtfully upgraded to improve drivability while preserving the distinctive styling that made the Starliner one of Ford's most recognizable full-size performance models.

Power comes from a Ford FE-series 390 cubic-inch V8 equipped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and backed by a 3-speed MX automatic transmission. The car has been upgraded with power steering, front disc brakes, and power brakes with an external vacuum pump to provide consistent brake assist. A Sanden compressor modernizes the air conditioning system, while a new 2-inch dual exhaust gives the FE engine the unmistakable sound expected of a healthy Ford big block.

The exterior retains its white roof with all of the factory roof medallions in place, while the red and white interior complements the Starliner's clean, understated styling. American Racing Torque Thrust wheels, Mickey Thompson tires, an upgraded single-wire alternator, and an adjustable Wilwood rear brake proportioning valve complete a package that is equally comfortable on the highway or at a weekend cruise.

This Starliner is an original California car that has been updated where it improves the driving experience while retaining the styling and character that have made these fastback Galaxies one of Ford's most recognizable designs of the early 1960s.
