1947 Ford Pickup w/239 Flathead V8. Auto. Older restoration that looks great!
Complete Pictures (including undercarriage) and Video at www.4-wheelclassics.com
This 1947 Ford Pickup (the year right before the F1) is a cool and clean Fat Fender truck that is an older restoration that still looks great!! The truck has always been kept indoors and driven sparingly in the summers. The body on this truck is clean and straight. When it was restored it was repainted in what we believe is it's original color of Vermillion Red. The paint still looks nice but it shows minor flaws from over the years. All of the chrome appears to be original and looks nice as well. The bed has nice oak wood with stainless strips and a toolbox in the bed. The underside is extra clean and was all repainted when the truck was restored. We found no rust issues with this truck.
The inside is also nice and pretty basic. The headliner and seat were redone when restored and they added custom carpet at that time. It still has the original instrument cluster in the dash. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work although some are aftermarket. The heater works too. This has an aftermarket Loker shifter in it. It is a nice original style interior.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives nice. The engine is the 239 Flathead V8 that was rebuilt 8 years ago when restored and has only around 1500 miles on it. It has Offenhauser aluminum heads, aluminum intake, upgraded carb, electronic ignition, aluminum radiator, and dual exhaust. The truck has also been upgraded to 12V. The engine runs great and starts easily. The transmission was upgraded to a C4 Automatic and it shifts great. The transmission was recently rebuilt and has a large aluminum pan installed (rebuilt in 2025 with only 50 miles on it). It shifts great. It has a Ford 9" rear axle with 3.25 gears. The truck does not have power steering or power brakes. This is all sitting on some cool aftermarket aluminum wheels with brand new Cooper Cobra Tires. Cool old truck!!
We drive what we sell so that we can give you a first hand and accurate report on how the vehicle runs and drives. Our pictures are never touched up or photoshopped. What you see is an accurate representation of the vehicle. We take consistent pictures and show you everything so you can get a true representation of the vehicle.
