Vintage Sunliner

This 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner comes from the same long-term collection as our Galaxie 500XL and remained with its previous owner for more than 40 years. It was restored by the same meticulous Ford enthusiast whose reputation was built on finding and preserving original Ford components. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he traveled the country acquiring obsolete factory parts from Ford dealerships, allowing him to restore these cars with genuine components that are no longer available through reproduction sources. The result is an exceptionally correct restoration that reflects the way these cars left the factory.

Finished in its original Chestnut Poly paint, this Sunliner is powered by its original numbers-matching 406 cubic-inch FE V8 equipped with the factory Tri-Power induction system and backed by a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission. The paint, brightwork, interior, chassis, and engine compartment all reflect the same attention to detail, and the car presents as one of the finest examples of Ford's full-size performance convertible.

Mechanically, the car remains true to its factory configuration with manual steering, four-wheel drum brakes, and a power-operated convertible top. Everything functions as intended, and the car is equally suited for concours judging, touring, or simply enjoying on the open road.

Finding a genuine 406 Sunliner is uncommon. Finding one restored with this level of originality and craftsmanship is rarer still.
