1966 Porsche 912 Coupe
• Chassis No. 452336
• Engine No. 741851 - Matching
• Transmission No. 223237 – Matching
• Completed on September 27, 1965
• Porsche Kardex
Original delivered by P.C. Pacific in Burlingame, California, finished in its original color combination of Light Ivory (6604) with Black upholstery, an early, short-wheelbase, three-gauge 912 Coupe exemplifies the purity and balance of Porsche's entry-level sports car at its debut.
The paintwork has had paint correction and is nicely detailed with patina. It presents beautifully with excellent panel fit and gaps. Exterior features include Hella 128 fog lights, chrome bumperettes, and chrome hub caps with Porsche crests. The interior is in excellent condition with new German carpets, VDM steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, headrests, and a period Pioneer AM/FM radio. The undercarriage is solid and rust-free and has been thoroughly cleaned, detailed, and undercoated to factory specification. The 912 rides on chrome-steel wheels mounted to Vredestein Spring Classic 165 HR 15 tires (date-coded 2025).
Powered by its matching 1600cc flat-four engine producing 95 hp, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission (Type 902/1) with four-wheel disc brakes. European Collectibles did a comprehensive engine-out service. The compression test was 155–160 psi across all cylinders. The engine was removed and disassembled, all sheet metal was powder-coated, and it was reassembled using CAD-plated hardware throughout. The braking system was completely rebuilt with a new master cylinder, rebuilt calipers, new pads, rotors, and hoses. The fuel system was gone through; a new fuel tank and all new fuel lines were installed. A new clutch, pressure plate, throughout bearing, and shifter bushings were installed. The result is a superb mechanical condition that is a pleasure to drive. Offered with a Porsche Kardex, tool kit, jack, spare wheel, and recent service records. This early 912 Coupe is in beautiful condition and is an excellent opportunity to acquire a short-wheelbase finished in its factory-correct color combination with the matching engine.
