We acquired this car from a couple in upstate New York near Rochester. The wife inherited this car from her late father, who lovingly restored it in 2021 before he passed away. Following the restoration, this Chieftain was mainly used for parades and car shows before being placed into storage roughly 18 months ago. We have extensive documentation from the 2021 restoration, during which the previous owner invested over $88,000 to bring this Chieftain to perfection. Everything on this car has been thoroughly gone through, including new glass all the way around, a new interior, new door and window seals, new lighting with bezels, a new master cylinder and brake hoses, and new suspension with gas shocks. The entire car was sandblasted and repainted, from the body down to the chassis, with all of the metalwork presenting exceptionally straight and finished to perfection. Under the hood is Pontiac's smooth 268 cubic-inch inline-8 engine, paired with a Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. The engine, carburetor, and transmission have all been completely gone through, along with new cooling, exhaust, and fuel systems installed throughout — ensuring this Chieftain runs as well as it looks. You could not replicate this car for the price we're asking; this restoration cost nearly $90,000, all told.
