1929 Ford Model A Coupe Offered from the Estate of Tony Miles Excellent Runner

The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls, with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle and gearshift; previous Ford models used controls that had become out of date and uncommon to drivers of other makes. The Model A's fuel tank was located in the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall and the dash panel. It had an optic fuel gauge and the fuel was distributed to the carburetor by gravity. In cooler climates, owners could purchase an aftermarket cast iron unit to place over the engine's exhaust manifold to bring heated air into the cab. A small door could be opened or closed to adjust the amount of hot air entering the cab. Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield.

When production ended in March, 1932, there were 4,849,340 Model A's made in all styles. It was replaced by an updated model called the Ford Model B and by the new V-8.

This very nice Model A Coupe is in very good condition in all respects, and presents quite well overall. The car runs and drives very well-it starts right up. runs smoothly, shifts crisply through the gears, and stops straight and true. The car was personally restored by Tony Miles long time president of the Hoosier Auto Show and Swap Meet, some time back, there are areas of minor paint crazing in various places apparent upon close inspection, and the top appears older although it is in excellent condition with no rips or tears noted. The upholstery is correct and in very good condition with only minor wear noted. The brightwork is in very good condition with no issues noted. This lovely Rumble Seat Coupe is just the thing for touring and will be a welcome addition to any stable of usable and enjoyable collector cars.
