1936 Chevrolet 4 Door Cabriolet
Why This Car Is Special
We have a very rare 1936 Chevy Cabriolet 4 Door here at Skyway Classics that belonged to U.S. Ambassador to Germany William E. Dodd. It is an extraordinarily rare Chevrolet, to the owner's knowledge there were only 2 produced with the other still in Europe.
The car was owned by the US ambassador to Germany William E. Dodd. Dodd served as ambassador to Germany from 1933-1937. He was sent to Germany to try to 'calm' Adolf Hitler down but resigned once he realized the Nazis were an increasing threat. Rumors are that Adolf Hitler rode in this car.
This steel bodied 1936 Chevrolet is a restored Chevrolet that commands attention everywhere you go. It has the right kind of originality that makes it perfect for a show car.
