This re-creation of an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza was constructed in the 1980s by the Argentinian constructors now known as Iconic Auto Sports and spent time in Europe before being imported to the US three years ago. Based on a chassis built in-house, the car features hand-formed aluminum coachwork replicating that of a Brianza-bodied Grand Prix racer configured for road competition. Work in 2019 included an overhaul of the custom-built 3.2L inline-eight, which comprises two conjoined Alfa Romeo 1600 inline-four engines with a shared crankcase, crankshaft, and dual overhead camshafts and breathes through a single carburetor and a Roots-type supercharger. Finished in red, the car also features an Alfa Romeo four-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, friction shock absorbers, red-painted 19” wire wheels, a fold-down windshield ahead of a Brooklands-style aeroscreen, and two-place seating upholstered in black. Sale includes invoices and photos from the engine rebuild as well as a clean Florida title describing it as a 1986 Alfa Romeo.
