GR Auto Gallery is excited to offer this 1972 Porsche 911 T Coupe for world consideration. This 911 has been in the same family for the past 35 years. The car has recently been removed from long term storage and serviced according. The car is powered by its fuel injected 2.4 liter flat 6 cylinder engine, 5 speed manual transmission and rear wheel drive. This is a desirable sunroof delete US model that retains an amazing highly original core structure. We looked hard at the engine and chassis number and it confidently appears as numbers matching. Porsche no longer offers certificates of authenticity to match engine numbers with the chassis. According to Porsche's technical specifications book, engines beginning with serial number 6120001 – 6124478 were produced for both the coupe, Chassis numbers 911210001 – 9112102931, and the Targa, Chassis numbers 9112110001 – 9112111821. 4476 engines and 4752 cars. Both the engine and chassis numbers line up to the middle of the production run. The car was originally Irish Green, but has always been Polo Red during the past ownership.
The exterior exhibits proper fitment throughout, the paint is old, but very presentable, the trim and chrome appear original and in very good condition. The interior features its original dash and gauges, Wevo shifter, turbo seats, sony radio, original door pockets etc. The underside features excellent pans and inner rockers, rock solid tow hook, excellent jack points, suspension mounting points, etc..
Other highlights include: Desirable 15 X 5.5 Mahle Gas Burner Wheels, the lightest alloy wheels offered for the 911 long hood, original steering to come with the car, external oil fill, mostly if not fully complete tool kit, full size Mahle Gas Burner spare with original jack etc.
Mechanically, the motor starts and runs strong, it shifts well and tracks straight. The car has brand new brakes at all 4 corners to include: New calipers, new pads and rotors. We also replaced all 4 tires.
This is not a perfect 911 nor is it priced as such. It is a rock solid, honest, running and driving example that can be enjoyed the way it is and a great investment piece. The options are limitless.
