FUEL INJECTED, KARMANN CONVERTIBLE, SILVER ON BLACK, SUPER NICE CRUISER!
HIGHLIGHTS: Nicely preserved and desirable classic 1979 VW Super Beetle Convertible! Super clean high-quality driver vintage VW ready for a new caretaker! This puppy is turn key!
BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Beetle is in incredible condition, and shows extremely well. The body is very straight, and really shows the level of care this car has received over the years. Even the underside is in nice condition, which is no small feat for a classic Beetle! Though some metal repairs have been made in the past, as seen in the photos, they appear to have been done correctly. This car appears to be an older restoration, and shows very nicely.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: This Beetle looks to have received a repaint in years past, but still shows nicely. While there are some minor paint defects to be found, as shown in the photos, overall the paint is in great condition and perfect for a high-quality driver like this for anyone who wants to have some fun and look good doing it!
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Finished in that classic Volkswagen black vinyl, the interior is a great contrast to the silver exterior. The vinyl is in nice condition, showing only light wear and tear. By 1979, the Beetle's reign in the US was coming to an end, and as an attempt to rekindle the VW love, Volkswagen tried their best to modernize the reliable old Type 1 platform with these Karmann-built convertible. Most notable, the simulated wood grain inserts and bolstered seating helped this car feel modern for the time.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Another thing that VW used to bring these Beetles up to speed was factory fuel injection, which was less common than you think in the early 1970s when VW introduced it for the Beetle. Under the hood sits a 1600cc VW engine, and it runs great! The fuel injection system works well, and this Beetle fires right up with a turn of the key–not even close to the start up process for the old carbureted 1600s! This Beetle runs like a champ, and sounds just great! If you're looking for something to buy today and take to a car show tomorrow, this just might be the car for you.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The good overall condition, and the small factory changes that make these last Beetles feel more modern.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: This one is hard to dislike!
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? As one would expect with a Beetle, the heater is not working.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Any VW enthusiast looking for a clean Beetle!
