"2.2 Liter 911 Power"
Between 1957 and 1959, just 34 examples of the 718 would be constructed, the first 10 of which were prototypes used for development and racing with factory drivers. All 718's used a tubular space frame chassis with afforded the 718 incredible rigidity while keeping weight to a minimum. Together, the 718 RSK and the 718 RS 60 won more than 1000 races, whether racking up victories in the smaller displacement classes or with overall wins.
GR Auto Gallery is excited to offer this exciting little car; this 1959 Porsche 718 RSK Spyder. This 718 is built on a Chuck Beck designed, space frame tubular chassis and is powered by a 1971 2.2 liter flat 6 (Engine number 6115308), carbureted 911 motor, 5 speed manual transaxle and rear wheel drive. It is presented in Victory Silver exterior paint over spartan interior. Highlights include: 4 wheel disc brakes with slotted front rotors, 15 inch 5 lug wheels, Yokohama tires, aluminum fuel tank, VDO gauges, on board data acquisition system, sport seats, sport exhaust, MSD ignition, etc.
This car is a flat-out blast to drive. The 2.2 liter 911 engine fires up with not issue and pulls strong and roars in all gears. The suspension is tight and stiff. The car handles fantastic and the brakes and calipers are new. A definite thrilling experience with all the true characteristics of vintage performance driving while delivering confidence to the driver. The body features older paint that has held up quite well but does show a few chips and imperfections.
Replica speedsters and 550 spyder's are plentiful in the collector car world, but the 718 RSK Spyder is one that is rarely seen. The car here is a quality build that has been consistently maintained and looked after. What a great car for the street and track, or a outstanding addition to any collection. Documented sales of authentic 718 Spyders have been in excess of 6 million dollars. The car here packs big of performance in a small lightweight package. This car is titled as a 1959 Porsche.
