The 2002 Ford Thunderbird landed in the “personal luxury car” market with much-deserved fanfare. It was immediately named the Motor Trend Car of the Year and was nominated for North American Car of the Year. The car's styling gives a nod to designs of years past and takes cues from the original Thunderbird. 2002 Thunderbirds were available as a convertible only, with the option of a removable hardtop.
