For consignment, plucked right out of the way back machine Sherman is this 1977 Cadillac Eldorado. This example in Florentine Firemist Gold, and all the amenities one could ever imagine, will whisk you down the highway effortlessly and in ultimate comfort. Need I say more?

Exterior
Florentine Firemist Gold even sounds luxurious and indeed it is! This car shows good paint, with a few dents and dings, and all the filler panels are missing between the bumpers and body panels. A few areas of rust bubbling on the rockers especially, but the gold padded vinyl landau top with opera window and light are looking good and clean. Chrome and trimmings of stainless steel are in good condition as is the orange pin striping adorning the sides of this big slab steel automobile. Big dish wheel coverings with gold painted centers are on all 4 corners.

Interior
Gold molded plastic, faux wood grain and some padded leather textured vinyl adorns the large door panels of the interior. A brushed stainless panel within the door handle/ armrest, powers the windows, locks and side view mirror. A band of gold carpeting covers the door panel bottoms. In front a split bench wide chair buttoned and tufted with square buttons leather material luxury seat is in. It has a sheepskin covering on the drivers and passengers' seats, and the large back bench is looking very good. The clean original dash stretches across the front, and it bleeds GM design of the 1970's with square and rectangle design, wood appliqué and plenty of padded vinyl. Gold carpeting is on the floors and shows a few smudges and dark spots.

Drivetrain
A big 425ci V8 with a single 4-barrel carburetor is on top. A TH425 3-speed automatic is on the back and 2.73 final drive ratio puts the power to the ground. This is a front wheel drive car so look MA! NO HUMP!!

Undercarriage
Some surface rust peppers various areas of the framing and suspension, but it is overall very light. Patina undercoating is the norm with the engine showing oiling on the bottom end. Torsion bar front suspension, and 4 link with coil springs for the back provides the ride, and power disc brakes are all around for the stopping.

Drive-Ability
I had to adjust my field of view to be able to gain judgement with these big steel slabs surrounding me. All was well though and I took off for a cruise fiddling with all the power controls, adjusting the seat, tuning the stereo, and experiencing the big car ride. All was good save for the power antenna not going up, and the HVAC only worked on defrost mode.

A large, gold luxury liner, decent paint in need of fillers which have long since gone by the wayside, but the interior is clean and well appointed, and the car drives like a dream.
